Mission Statement
Let’s be real—this job gets into your head. You see too much, carry more than you admit, and still show up like nothing happened. But pushing through it all without backup? That only works for so long.

Behind the Badge and Beyond is a statewide association of clinicians who actually get the world you work in. We’re not a big agency or some out-of-touch counseling center—we’re a network of independently licensed therapists committed to serving first responders, because we believe the people who protect others deserve real, culturally competent care.
We back our members too. Every clinician in this association is supported with training, peer connection, and shared resources—because when you’re dealing with the toughest calls, you need someone across from you who’s just as solid as you are.
And no, we’re not here to throw a clipboard at you and ask how your day made you feel—unless that’s actually helpful. We’re here with real talk, real tools, and real backup.

Goals
1) To vet those who seek to service first responder groups and build a network you can trust to help not hurt.

2) To develop a interdisciplinary team to engage in monthly open case consultations within the BBB's membership to problem solve and support or clinical staff that treat our first responders.

3) To develop trainings that help those interested in treating first responders, and educate in how to do it the right way.

4) To become a resource and resource location for information on first responder treatment.
